One of the reasons why Twitter came to be used all over the world widely is that Twitter's 'API' is 'opened'. Therefore, various kinds of applications and a lot of client tools were made by many developers. In addition, that gave the acceleration to increasing of the number of users of Twitter.

The user who uses Twitter has two different types now. The 1st type of the user is a user who visits the Twitter site ( 'Twitter.com' ) directly. He tweet some tweets and read the Time Lines at 'Twitter.com'. The 2nd type of the user is a user who uses Twitter via favorite Twitter client tool. He accesses Twitter through 'API'.

Twitter adds a new framework for the 2nd type of the user. 'Twitter Blog' describes as follows.
"Rather than implementing APIs, site owners need only drop in a few lines of javascript. This new set of frameworks is called @anywhere."
